Socially driven architect and urban designer

This portfolio presents a selection of projects that I have contributed to either as Project leader, Architect or Assistant architect. It illustrates extracts from my experience both in architecture practices and in voluntary solidarity projects.

As you will see, I have worked on different types and sizes of projects and covered all stages from analysis to building permits and from detailed to construction drawings.

I have also worked with different teams and company structures, following or experiencing diverse design processes. My preference goes to participatory processes, engaging with the users, stakeholders and communities from the early project stages.

SCHOOLS

The Humane School

2018, Kitale, Kenya.

With Asante Architecture and Design and ASF-Sweden

I organised and completed an assessment trip to Kenya to carry out the participatory assessment and design of a local anthroposophic school for children from the nearby community.

With the financial support of ASF-Sweden, I was able to immerse in the local culture and study similar relevant projects, consolidate the existing collaborations and partnerships, carry out participatory design process with the school leaders, teachers, staff, parents and children, as well as provide guidance and support in project management to The Humane School Board of Education.

Österkärsskolan

2016-2017, Österåker, Sweden.

With Bleck Arkitekter and Asante Architecture and Design.

For over a year I worked as an Assistant architect (Medverkande) on an extension and renovation project of a public primary school, following all project phases from building permit to construction drawings.

The main extension provides a new main entrance, a modern kitchen and a comfortable canteen. Three smaller extensions offer new cloakrooms connected to the renovated classrooms that fulfil the new education standards and handicap accessibility requirements. The pupils sense of direction is facilitated inside and around the school by the matching colours applied to chosen design elements.

URBAN PLANNING

Stenungsund

2017-2018, Västra Götaland, Sweden

With Strategisk Arkitektur

I contributed as Consultant Project leader (Handläggare) on the preliminary design, programme and feasibility studies for the development of a new district in a fast-growing city centre located on the west coast of Sweden.

This mixed-used development, designed in close collaboration between several public and private stakeholders, aims to create a vibrant city centre offering commercial and residential facilities while enhancing the water front recreational spaces and improving public and private transportation systems.

HOUSING

Apartment building Ejdern

2016, Sollentuna, Sweden

With Asante Architecture and Design

I contributed as an Assistant architect (Medverkande) on detail drawings for the interior equipment and landscaping.

This project comprises 82 apartments allotted in 6 different buildings with pleasant and practical in-between spaces.

Each apartment is framed individuality to simulate the identities of private villas, while inner gardens allow natural light to reach further in the buildings. A great attention has been given to the choice of materials and details.

I participated as an Assistant architect (Medverkande) on the building permit and detail drawings of this modern and charming eccentric villa in the Stockholm archipelago.
